Dr. Kerri Belsito and her Family
Dr. Kerri Belsito, a native New Englander, graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts in 1997. Throughout high school, college and vet school, she actively participated in the equine industry in the Northeast, focusing on teaching and competing in eventing and dressage. Kerri completed her internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, a full service referral facility in Southern California's racing country in 1998. In 1999, she received her MBA from Colorado State. After graduate school, she spent 2 years in private equine practice with a medical and surgical group outside of Portland, OR where she had the opportunity to work with many of the NW's top hunters and jumpers.
Dr. Kerri started her own equine practice in Colorado in 2002 and has focused on her passion for sports medicine and rehabilitation. She has national recognition in the areas of physiotherapy, biomechanics and nutrition/gut health. She has also received her HUMAN Health Coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and now can offer solutions to both members of the horse & rider team.
Dr. Kerri has played and coached softball for teen girls but now enjoys family time with husband, George, & son, Aidan and 2 dogs, Zoomi and Zola. The family spends a lot of time at Aidan’s activities which include chess, baseball and quarter midget car racing. Dr. Kerri also loves music and cooking and George is a professional bowler.

Dr. Richard Wheeler was born in Fairview, MT and was raised on his family’s ranch. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University in 1999, and then completed an internship in Ambulatory and Production Medicine at Cornell University. Richard continued his sojourn at Cornell with a Residency in Theriogenology and achieved Board Certification in Reproduction by the American College of Theriogenologists in 2002.
Dr. Wheeler returned to the Fort Collins area in 2003, opened Poudre River Veterinary Clinic and provides expertise in reproduction and general medicine for large and small animals. He is also a faculty member at Colorado State University where he specializes in and teaches Canine Reproduction.
Dr. Wheeler is available to manage or consult on reproductive cases in all species.
